Idea launches 4G services in 39 towns of Karnataka

In addition, Idea will launch 4G services in 18 more towns of the state by the end of this financial year.
Idea Cellular has announced the expansion of its 4G LTE services to 39 towns of Karnataka. The company said within a month it has expanded 4G LTE service footprint to 24 districts, including Bengaluru, Mysuru, Madikeri, Karwar, Chikmagalur, Belgavi and Chitradurga, covering 20 per cent of the total population of the state. Idea claims that it has over 8.6 million consumers in Karnataka.
In addition, the telecom operator will launch 4G service in Mangalore, Udupi-Manipal, Bijapur, Ballari and 18 more towns by this financial year end.
In December, Idea Cellular rolled out its 4G services in India for the first time starting from major towns in South India - Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and Karnataka. In this month only, Idealaunched its 4G services across four more states in India including Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab.
Ambrish Jain, Deputy Managing Director of Idea Cellular said "Since last week of December, Idea has rapidly rolled out high- speed 4G LTE network to cover seven major markets in the country. By March, the services will extend to three more key markets - Maharashtra and Goa, Northeast and Odisha and by June,Idea's 4G footprint will cover 750 cities across 10 telecom circles".
Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular, "Idea customers with 4G devices in these 183 towns can now start experiencing superfast speeds by simply upgrading their existing SIM cards to new 4G SIM cards. The company is also offering attractive subscription plans to digital content including a wide range of the latest Music, Movies and Games. Idea has also partnered with leading handset manufacturers and e-commerce retailers for special data bundling offers on new 4G smartphones."
